Privacy Policy

We use the information you provide at sign-up — such as your GPA, test scores, budget, residency status, and financial-aid answers — to rank universities for you and personalize your recommendations. If you turn on application tracking, we also use your application results as described below.

• We never sell your personal data.
• We never share your answers with universities or third parties.
• You can update your information from your profile at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and all of your data (see “Your requests” below).
• Your password is stored encrypted; we can never see it.

Who can use Raddym

Raddym is for students who are 13 or older. When you sign up we ask for the month and year you were born — not your full date of birth — so we can apply the protections below. Accounts created before we asked are asked once, the next time they log in.

Students aged 13–17

Many Raddym users are high school students, and we treat their data with extra care. If you are under 18, or have not told us your age yet:

• We do not load Google Analytics or Microsoft advertising tags on your pages, and we do not send them anything about you — even if you selected “Accept” in the cookie banner.
• Your data is never sold, never used for targeted advertising, and never used to build advertising audiences.
• We only use your information to provide Raddym to you. Your activity can be part of anonymous totals (for example, “12 students signed up today”) that never include your name, email or any profile answer.
• You, or your parent or guardian, can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.

Children under 13

Raddym is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If someone tells us they are under 13 when signing up, we do not create an account or keep what they entered. If we learn that an existing account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it. Parents or guardians who believe their child has given us information can contact us at the address below and we will delete it.

Application tracking (optional)

On the My Applications page you can record where you plan to apply, where you have applied, and what each school decided. Nothing is saved until you check the consent box there, and we never assume you applied anywhere.

• We save each status you choose, the term you plan to start, and the Safe / Target / Reach label Raddym showed for that school at the time.
• We may use these results, without your name or email, to measure how accurate Raddym’s matches are and to improve them. They do not change your own matches, and we never share them with universities or third parties.
• If you mark a school as Applied and tell us your start term, we show a reminder on your list page around the time decisions usually come out. We never send these reminders by email, and you can choose “Not yet” to hide one for a while.
• You can change any status at any time, or delete all of your application data at once from the My Applications page. Deleting it also turns tracking off.

Cookies and your choices

Analytics and advertising cookies are optional and off by default. The tags that set them are not even loaded until you select “Accept” in the cookie banner, and they are never loaded for students under 18. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page; choosing “Decline” also removes the optional cookies we had set. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as “Decline” automatically.

Essential cookies (always on, needed for the site to work):

• session — keeps you logged in and remembers short-lived steps, such as the email address waiting for verification. Ends when you close your browser.
• remember_token — only if you choose “Stay logged in”; keeps you logged in for up to 30 days.
• raddym_consent — remembers your cookie choice for up to 6 months.

Optional cookies (only after “Accept”, and only for visitors who are not logged in or are 18 or older):

• Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_… — tell a returning visitor from a new one.
• Microsoft Advertising: _uetsid and _uetvid — connect a visit to an ad click. Microsoft may also set its own cookies on its own domains.

Website analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people open. This tells us how many people use Raddym and where they get stuck. It does not receive your GPA, test scores, budget, residency status, financial-aid answers, your email address, or anything else from your profile. Before page addresses are sent, we remove everything except standard campaign tags (such as utm_source).

What Google Analytics receives is the ordinary information any website gets: the page you opened, roughly when, your approximate location, your browser and device type, and the site that linked you here. We also tell it when a few key steps happen: creating an account, completing or updating your profile, getting a university list, and sending feedback — just the name of the step, with no details. Google processes this data under its own terms; see Google's privacy policy.

Advertising measurement

We may advertise Raddym on Microsoft Advertising (Bing). With your permission, and only if you are not logged in or are 18 or older, we use Microsoft’s Universal Event Tracking tag to learn whether those ads work. It tells Microsoft which pages were visited and when someone created an account or got a university list — never your email address, GPA, test scores, family income, citizenship or residency status, or any other profile answer. We do not use it to build advertising audiences or to show you ads elsewhere. Microsoft processes this data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

To understand our ads without sending anyone’s data to Google or Microsoft, we also keep simple daily totals on our own servers: for visits that arrived with campaign tags, how many opened the sign-up page, created an account, or got a university list, split only into “13–17” and “18 or older”. These totals contain no names, emails, IP addresses, or profile answers, and cannot be linked back to you.

Blocking analytics or advertising tags does not affect how Raddym works for you.

Your requests

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and everything saved with it, by emailing raddymhq@gmail.com from the address on your account. A parent or guardian can make these requests for a student under 18. We respond within 45 days.
